It's 33 degrees in London today. Which for me is really hot!
So thought I'd share my tips for coping with the heat:
if you're outside, stay in the shade. You might think you love the sunshine on your skin, and sun on your face ... But the sun is draining and it'll exhaust you further.
If you are outside, always wear a hat. You might look like a dork, you might think it makes you feel hotter, but protecting the top of your head from the direct heat of the sun, stops you from getting that frazzled headache.
Sounds obvious but drink drink drink. Drink water. Keep bottles in the fridge so they are cool and drink all the time. (your wee should be a light clear colour ... If it isn't drink more!!)
Buy a fan, buy a small Aircon unit, keep the curtains in your bedroom drawn - anything to keep your bedroom cool. If you can't sleep don't stress... Same is happening to everyone else (all the healthy people can't sleep either).
Reduce your activity... I made this mistake yesterday and didn't listen to my own advice. I've managed to build up very slowly to 3500 steps a day. And yesterday, I couldn't do it! Got to 2000 and felt mightly unwell.
Wear your sunglasses ... The bright white light is tiring and a drain. Take care, stay cool. What else do you do to stay cool? Share your tips with me ... As I'd love to know more!!!
